Summary
Monarda clinopodia appears very similar to Monarda ‘Bryan Thompson’. This species has white flowers with a few purple spots that are only visible when viewed up close. Monarda clinopodia has excellent powdery mildew resistance. However, its floral display is not particularly impressive, and the habit is a bit floppy. This species could likely be used in a breeding program to improve disease resistance among more sturdy and colorful hybrids.
