Summary
Monarda ‘Acpetdel’ was developed as part of a breeding program carried out by the Canadian government and is sold under the trade name Petite Delight™. This cultivar got off to a slow start in our trial. Three out of the four initial plants had to be replaced after the first winter and even the replacements were slow to establish. By the second year, the performance of Petite Delight had improved, showing much better powdery mildew resistance. Unfortunately, this cultivar does have a shorter-than-average bloom period, much like the cultivar ‘ACrade’ (Grand Parade™) which has a similar look and is from the same breeding program.
