Hydrangea arborescens ‘PIIHA-1’ (Endless Summer® Bella Anna)

2 Photos

Summary

Endless Summer® Bella Anna wild hydrangea along with Invincibelle® Spirit wild hydrangea was the first pink mophead Hydrangea arborescens introduced to the horticulture world. In this case, the pink-flowering lacecap selection Hydrangea arborescens ‘Wesser Falls’ provided the genetics for this breeding breakthrough. The raspberry-pink floral coloration of Endless Summer® Bella Anna is some of the best and most saturated in the trial, nearly rivaling the deep pink hues exhibited by the sterile flowers of Invincibelle® Ruby wild hydrangea.  Unfortunately, this cultivar suffered in the ratings due to a propensity for floppy stems that were displayed in early summer.
