2 Photos

Summary

Hydrangea arborescens ‘NCHA5’, also known as Invincibelle® Wee White wild hydrangea, tied with Hydrangea arborescens ‘NCHA3’ (Invincibelle® Ruby wild hydrangea) for the top-rated compact hydrangea in this trial. In full sun, this cultivar matured to a size of only 2’ tall and 3’ wide over 5 years, while plants grown in shade were slightly taller and wider. Invincibelle® Wee White can be easily incorporated into small gardens or container plantings. The inflorescences of this cultivar begin their floral display with sterile flowers that are very lightly flushed with pink. As the flowers age, they fade to ivory. This cultivar is best grown with some shade, as the sterile flowers were quick to burn in full sun.
