Phlox ‘Solar Flare’

6 Photos

Summary

Phlox ‘Solar Flare’ is a new hybrid cultivar from The Primrose Path that was hybridized from several different native species. The flowers are white with a light pink blush that diffuses into the petals from the floral tube. Peak floral display is in mid-June, but sporadic blooming continues throughout the summer if the plants have adequate moisture. The flower color and bloom time are very similar to ‘Aurora’. However, ‘Solar Flare’ lacks fragrance and has narrower foliage. Powdery mildew resistance was excellent with no infections observed at any point during the trial.
