Summary
Phlox paniculata ‘Ditomfav’ belongs to the Candy Store™ series and is sold under the trade name Cotton Candy. This cultivar performed very similarly to ‘Ditomfra’ (Bubblegum Pink) which is part of the same series and likely shares a common breeding parentage. As with Bubblegum Pink, Cotton Candy got off to a great start, but a dry period during the summer of the 2016 weakened several of the plants, such that only two out of five survived the following winter. Cotton Candy did not rate as well as Bubblegum Pink in terms of powdery mildew resistance. However, much of that difference was observed during 2016 when the plants were in particularly bad shape. With more frequent irrigation, Cotton Candy likely would have performed much better.
