Trial Garden

Phlox divaricata ‘Blue Perfume’

3 Photos

Summary

Phlox divaricata ‘Blue Perfume’ struggled in our trial garden. The plants initially did well during the first year of the evaluation but completely defoliated during the summer months. Three of the plants returned the following spring only to repeat the same pattern. We attribute part of this cultivar’s poor performance to its stressed state during planting. This suggests that plant health at the time of planting is an important predictor of long term success.
