Phlox divaricata ‘Blue Moon’

4 Photos

Summary

Phlox divaricata ‘Blue Moon’ is tied with Phlox divaricata as the best selections of woodland phlox in our trial. Of the two, we would recommend ‘Blue Moon’ over the straight species since performance could vary between individuals of Phlox divaricata depending on the source. As a cultivar, ‘Blue Moon’ will behave consistently, regardless of where it is purchased. However, it is likely that the main reason both Phlox divaricata and ‘Blue Moon’ were the top-performing selections is because we planted healthy and actively growing plants which readily established themselves in the garden. This was not always possible with other, less common cultivars purchased from various nurseries. Therefore, we highly recommend purchasing and planting only healthy and actively growing selections of woodland phlox.
