Heuchera ‘Midnight Rose’

3 Photos

Summary

Heuchera ‘Midnight Rose’ has deep-purple, almost black leaves with flecks of hot pink. The pink mottling was not as extensive as advertised; however, an improved form has recently been released which displays more of the characteristic pink flecks. We were not able to obtain the improved form for comparison. ‘Midnight Rose’ rated only 2.9 because of an overall lack of vigor. The plants never looked bad, but they were not as full and lush as one would expect after a period of three years. When grown in full sun, ‘Midnight Rose’ experienced significant discoloration, and is thus recommended for part shade – full shade conditions.
