Echinacea ‘Eglow’ (Evening Glow)

3 Photos

Summary

Evening Glow coneflower was a favorite because of the interesting bicolored flowers with horizontally held petals.  The flowers are orange initially, then ray petals are become dark pink near the base and pale orange at the tips, with the orange fading to pale pink over time.  The cone is a complementary reddish-pink.  Although the flowers scored well, the final evaluation reflected the loss of several plants from aster yellows. Evening Glow was introduced by the Dutch plant breeder Dionysius F. M. de Bont.
