Summary
There are several light yellow selections of false indigo, each with a slightly different shade, with ‘Carolina Moonlight’ falling in the middle of the range. ‘Carolina Moonlight’ has tall inflorescences that bloom for an average of three weeks. Though some selections of yellow Baptisia have gray stems that help highlight the lighter colored flowers, the pale gray stems of ‘Carolina Moonlight’ add little to its ornamental appeal while in bloom. This cultivar was slow to develop over the course of the trial, but the plants really flourished by the end. ‘Carolina Moonlight’ has not produced any fruit during our trial.
