Summary
Baptisia ‘Anne’ is one of the top-performing cultivars in our trial. It boasts an incredible number of inflorescences and a nearly perfect mounding habit. ‘Anne’ is very similar to, though slightly larger than, ‘Sunny Morning’. After four years of evaluation we have yet to observe any fruit on ‘Anne’ so it is probably safe to assume that this is a sterile cultivar, unable to produce viable seed. This cultivar was found as a chance seedling among a flat of Baptisia sphaerocarpa ‘Screamin’ Yellow’ by Brian Magowan, the former owner of Blue Meadow Farm in Massachusetts.
