Coreopsis ‘Pink Lemonade’

4 Photos

Summary

Coreopsis ‘Pink Lemonade’ had the most lodging of the four cultivars in the Lemonade™ Series.  Cutting back some of plants in mid-July did extend the bloom time and foliage quality for a few weeks, but all of the plants died at the same time in late August.  Powdery mildew resistance was noted to be significantly better during the second year of the trial compared to the first.  Powdery mildew in general was not as prevalent in 2013, but ‘Pink Lemonade’ went from the bottom to the middle of the pack in terms of resistance to powdery mildew. The best thing about the Lemonade Series is that the bright chartreuse foliage adds several weeks of ornamental appeal even before flowering begins.
