Summary
Coreopsis ‘Cha Cha Cha’ was an early bloomer, reaching its peak flower coverage in early June. Like the other early blooming cultivars (mostly members of the Coloropsis™ Series), ‘Cha Cha Cha’ died about three weeks earlier than the cultivars that began blooming around the end of June. Because their period of ornamental display is earlier than most of the cultivars in our trial, cutting the plants back in mid-July was probably too late to have any effect. Powdery mildew was not as significant of a problem for the trial as a whole in 2013. However, ‘Cha Cha Cha’ again suffered from one of the higher incidences of powdery mildew relative to the rest of the Coloropsis™ Series. Coreopsis ‘Salsa’ is a similar though better performing cultivar.
