Don’t miss this unique hayride experience through Mt. Cuba’s gorgeous natural areas. Our hay wagon travels through rolling hills and grassland fields, where you’ll hear about Mt. Cuba’s land management, conservation efforts, and restoration projects. Arrive at a bonfire where you’ll enjoy stunning vistas, tasty brews, and fireside snacks.

Advanced registration required; space is limited. Participants must be ages 21 and older.

Hitch a hayride deep into our natural lands before adventuring on foot for a behind-the-scenes experience of Mt. Cuba’s wilder side. Hike with a friendly and knowledgeable tour guide to the far corners of the property and discover how Mt. Cuba applies “gardening on a higher level” in natural areas. Learn about ever-evolving land management strategies, conservation efforts and research, and the state of our restoration projects.

Be prepared to hike gently sloping paths and navigate some uneven terrain. Advance registration required; space is limited.

Uncover the past with local historian Nedda Moqtaderi as she reveals the rich legacy of Mt Cuba Center, from the expansive family farms to active milling complexes. Explore three centuries of people and cultural landscapes through archival records, historic buildings, and on-site visits to our exceptional natural lands aboard our tractor-driven hay wagon. Dress for the weather, bring a water bottle, and be prepared for walking on moderate slopes. Class size is limited.
