Taking a deep breath of fresh air. Using the senses and power of observation to engage with nature. These are just a few therapeutic horticulture strategies that can be used to enhance one’s health and well-being. Participants in this workshop will learn about the history and the numerous benefits that result from engaging with nature. Certified horticulture therapist Kathy Andrzejewski, MEd, HT, will share information about horticulture therapy and will provide participants with a take-home tool kit containing a variety of interactive horticulture-based activities to use on their own. Class will include lecture and outside activities. Please dress for the weather.
This program takes place in-person (at Mt. Cuba Center) Saturday, November 12, 2022 (Rain Date: Sunday, November 13; 1 – 3 pm)
About the Instructor:
Kathy Andrzejewski (MEd, HT) works as an educator at Mt. Cuba Center and is a certified Horticulture Therapist. She earned her certification through the Chicago Botanic Garden and is also a Delaware Master Naturalist. She enjoys using her knowledge to have people of all ages experience the health and wellness benefits that result from engaging with nature.
