Heuchera ‘Guardian Angel’

7 Photos

Summary

Heuchera ‘Guardian Angel’ has large silver leaves with slight undulations that reveal purple undersides. The leaves also have undertones that transition from purple to green as they mature. ‘Guardian Angel’ consistently had a lush, dense habit with one important exception. Each year, as the plants began to bloom the habit became very open and disheveled. It often took several weeks for the plants to regain their uniformly mounding shape. The floral display was determined to be insignificant because the inflorescences were extremely tall, floppy, and individual flowers were too small to provide an effective display. When grown in full sun, ‘Guardian Angel’ experienced slightly burnt leaf tips and moderate discoloration, and is thus only recommended for part shade – full shade conditions.
